DATA PROTECTION / GDPR

Following the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation, the legal requirements applicable to data processing have become significantly stricter. In the era of Big Data, there is practically no business activity that does not raise legal questions in connection with data processing, such as keeping records of users registered on a website, creating databases for market research purposes, processing user and customer data, operating video surveillance systems, or processing employee data.

Due to the complexity of the regulation and practical solutions, as well as continuously evolving technological backgrounds, unlawful data processing practices can easily occur. In certain cases, this may result in fines imposed by the competent authority or other legal consequences, such as claims for damages or non-pecuniary compensation, representing a significant business risk for data controllers.

Under the dual pressure of the data protection supervisory authority and users who are increasingly sensitive to data protection issues, it is especially important to ensure the lawfulness of data processing activities, to plan them properly from a legal perspective, and to develop and apply policies, notices and processes that comply with statutory requirements. In this context, we offer efficient legal assistance in designing data processing activities that can also withstand a possible official data protection audit.
